The client hired CMCI to manage its transition and move into a new building.

Initially, CMCI met with each existing department that would be moving into the new facility to understand the client’s services, see their current space and equipment and how it was used, and to better identify the client needs and required time for success. As we walked the space, we compared the new equipment on the list to what was existing in the department. For instance, as we walked from department to department, we noticed that the equipment list called for new copiers — a minimum of one new copier per department. However, all of the current copiers looked new. CMCI met with our project sponsor to determine if this was correct or an error. The client, who had actually approved the list, was stunned by the large quantity of copiers that were to be ordered, when in fact, they needed no new copiers. By catching this issue and discussing it with the client, we literally provided a cost savings equal to our fee.
