TIPS FOR CONDUCTING A VIRTUAL MEETING:
.) FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE TECHNOLOGY YOU’RE USING, BEFORE THE MEETING STARTS. THIS HELPS YOU COME ACROSS AS CONFIDENT AND HELPS AVOID EMBARRASSING MISTAKES.
.) HAVE A PLAN B IN CASE YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION HAS OTHER PLANS FOR YOUR MEETING. WOULD A FOLLOW UP EMAIL BE ENOUGH, OR WILL A CONFERENCE CALL BE MORE SUITABLE? INCLUDE PLAN B IN YOUR MEETING INVITE.
.) PLAN AND PRIORITIZE YOUR QUESTIONS WITH THE MOST ESSENTIAL INFORMATION GIVEN FIRST. SET AN AGENDA AND EMAIL OUT IN ADVANCE, SO EVERYONE’S ON THE SAME PAGE.
.) AS ALWAYS, ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS AND BE MINDFUL OF BACKGROUND NOISE.
.) BE FRIENDLY AND REFRAIN FROM JUMPING INTO QUESTIONS BEFORE ASKING HOW EVERYONE IS DOING.
.) SEND A FOLLOW UP EMAIL INCLUDING MEETING NOTES, SO EMPLOYEES CAN EASILY REFER TO KEY ELEMENTS ADDRESSED DURING MEETING. OR RECORD THE MEETING FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND.
