The AIA Houston Women in Architecture Committee is pleased to announce the Sixth annual Equity Series: Re|DEFINE

Architecture companies are experiencing a faster departure rate of women leaders during a time when talent shortages feel unsurmountable. Studies show that “only one in four C-suite leaders is a woman, and only one in 20 is a woman of color”(McKinsey,2022-Women in Workplace).How does success differ from the definition of success we have been given in a holistically designed lifestyle since we began our careers as architects? Is it possible to address the cliff that occurs when women reach the leadership level while designing our definition of personal and professional accomplishments? In order to create an equitable and diverse architectural practice, we must rethink success on an individual and firm level.
